The HITMC (Healthcare and IT Marketing Community) has a number of unique program options that are worth highlighting for those that are new to the community. Plus, we’re always trying to push the envelope with new session ideas that could provide a unique experience for new attendees and long time HITMC veterans. This year is no different. Here’s a look at some of the unique program elements you can expect at HITMC 2022.
First Time Attendee Meetup
If this is your first time attending HITMC, you’re not going to want to miss this meetup. Grab a coffee and join other first time attendees. We’ll have a number of HITMC veterans joining us at the event as well so we can welcome you with open arms (or a virtual high five or fist bump if you prefer) and connect you to others in the community quickly. We’ll be connecting you to the community and answering any questions you may have, but think of the first time attendee meetup as a time to make half a dozen new friends that will kick off your event on the right foot.
Unconference Sessions
A community favorite, the unconference sessions are something you’ll want to be sure is on your agenda. We have 3 unconference topics planned (Content Marketing, Video, and Branding) for the first session on Monday and 3 more topics (Unconventional Marketing Ideas, Lead Generation, and Events) for the 2nd session on Tuesday.
For those not familiar with the unconference format, we’ll have whiteboards in the meal area/hallway where throughout the day you can write down your questions, challenges, etc for each topic. Plus, if you see a question or topic you like, you can vote it up by placing a check mark next to the topics/questions you want to learn about too. The questions and ideas discussed all come from the attendees.
During the unconference, a facilitator will lead a community discussion using the most popular crowdsourced questions and comments on the whiteboards. The community builds the unconference questions and the community provides the answers (or at least commiseration when there may not be an answer). This is the perfect time to get your questions answered and to connect with your healthcare marketing peers.
Improv Powerpoint Presentations
This session is debuting for the first time at HITMC 2022. Brave members of the community are going to be invited to put their names in the bowl for us to randomly draw 4 community members who will be presenting this session. Of course, the surprise is that they’ll be presenting a Powerpoint deck they’ve never seen before (created by community members) and they have no idea what’s coming next.
Plus, the audience will get to decide whose presentation was the best and deserves a sweet prize. We’re not sure if it will be a colossal success or a massive disappointment. Either way, join us to find out and enjoy a few laughs along the way.
Ask the Experts
Do you have a burning question that you haven’t gotten answered at the event? Want to connect with a peer for a topic that’s important to you? The Ask the Experts time on Tuesday afternoon in the ballroom is the perfect place for you to learn and connect with a wide variety of healthcare marketing experts. See the full list of topics these experts can discuss with you here.
Plus, a number of you have asked if there’s a chance for you to connect with MEDITECH’s experts since we’re using their venue for the conference. A number of MEDITECH experts will be available at this time to answer any questions you have for them. If they don’t know the answer, they can try and connect you with the person that may be able to help.
Medigy HITMC Awards
On Wednesday, be sure to attend the Medigy HITMC Awards ceremony at 9 AM. It’s a great place to be inspired by the great work of the community and to get new ideas for your company. Plus, for a number of the awards, we don’t tell people in advance that they won. You’ll want to attend and see if someone else in the community nominated you for the win.
#WomenofHITMC Meetup and Lunch
This event was scheduled to premiere in 2020 and then COVID hit, so join us for this first ever #WomenofHITMC Meetup sponsored by Innsena Communications. A full lunch will be provided and while it’s focused on women, men who support women and want to learn more about women’s experience in healthcare marketing are welcome to attend as well. This interactive meetup will provide great opportunities to connect on a deeper level to other women in the HITMC community.
