Mara Lord
From strategic thought leadership to marketing and philanthropy, Mara Lord brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, higher education, and entrepreneurial ventures on the west coast and in the Midwest. She built her early career as a TV producer for ABC News, marketing director for the World’s Largest Music Festival, and founder of two companies offering documentary production, strategic planning, and business development. Mara spent a decade in Seattle leading a birth and family center before joining the Medical College of Wisconsin where she currently serves as Chief Communications Officer and Interim Chief Development Officer. Mara is driving the institution’s inaugural brand strategy and comprehensive philanthropic campaign.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in the Comparative History of Ideas and Medical Ethics from the University of Washington and her MBA from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is working toward her PhD in Public and Community Health.
